First of all, this Torah scroll art is by the wonderful Israeli, Yoram Ranaan. (As is true with ALL art on this site I ask you to honor that I have been given permission to use it. Have you? Please just enjoy!)
This section of the site will offer you samples of efforts that I've used with my churches to bring the old Text to life. In a "readers theater" style we hold the Word in respect by using the familiar King James from the pulpit and then side "readers" interspersed with the original Text in a manner that, hopefully, gives new slants and power to the Word in the congregation's hand. Facets get exposed.
This can be done reverently and powerfully. I urge you to NEVER do something like this in a manner that is cutesy or demeans the Sacred Text. Bring it to life, don't cheapen it.
I'll rotate these out so you may wish to check back to see other renditions and samples...
One last thing- This is a GREAT way to get youth and young adults and couples and families engaged in significant contributions to the worship event if you do it well!

I have asked for permission from the artists. Have you?) The rest a gift, you don't even need to credit me. Just be honest and don't say it's original with you or that you created it... That's all I ask. Thanks!
